The trail east to Nohol Pilar crosses an ancient platform,
past quarries, and into the corozal again. Watch out for the corozo
holes, treacherous remains of dead corozo palms. Termite nests are
also visible along the trail. Walk quietly in this area and expect
to encounter animals as well as their tracks. We regularly see deer
in this zone.
The last 30 meters of the trail climbs 12 meters to Plaza Copal. It
is with relief you see the resting champa constructed by Raleigh International
under the El Pilar Program supervision.
You are now at Plaza Copal on the Nohol
Trail. After your welcome rest, go left and south to Plaza Duende
and begin the Nohol Trail.
